Redding Christian School Performing Arts production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; a musical for the whole family.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will take you by the seams and bring you along for a musical treat! With the help of a Narrator, the story of Joseph and his illustrious multi-colored coat comes to life. Joseph, the favored son of Jacob and envied brother to eleven, soon discovers what it’s like to go from sitting in the favored seat to the depravity of slavery. Under his new master, Potiphar, Joseph rises to the top. All the while, Mrs. Potiphar has her eyes fixed on Joseph. Despite denying her advances, Joseph soon finds himself imprisoned from the very man he tried to please. While in the depths of darkness, Joseph gets a “glimmer of light” and soon finds himself at the throne of Pharaoh being tasked with interpreting Pharaoh’s dreams. Much to Pharaoh’s relief, Joseph is able to fulfill this task. Seeing that no one is wiser in Egypt than Joseph, Pharaoh removes Joseph’s chains of imprisonment, elevates him as an Egyptian ruler, and charges him with the task of securing the welfare of the Egyptian people. While in his new position, Joseph finds himself facing the very brothers that once betrayed him, seeking help for their own survival. Unaware that the Egyptian ruler is their youngest brother whom they sold into slavery many years earlier, the brothers find themselves enduring a few trials of their own. Recognizing that his trials were for the benefit of many, Joseph chooses to embrace his brothers once again, and is reunited with his father.
