In The Mood Swings The Cascade March 12th

The art deco setting of the historic Cascade Theatre is the perfect setting for In The Mood, a musical revue celebrating the Big Band era. Featuring fabulous singers, dancers and authentic costumes from the 1940’s, Jefferson Public Radio and the Cascade Theatre bring In The Mood  to the lovingly restored stage Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 7:30pm.
More than a concert, In The Mood is a trip back in time to WWII and the music that brought a nation together with  the String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra, impeccable choreography, intimate ballads and up-tempo big band rhythms. The production takes the audience on a historical and musical journey honoring the life and times of America’s greatest generation, during a time when music moved the country’s spirit. In The Mood features the music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Harry James, The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra and more.
Celebrating its 20th year, In The Mood has been showcasing the music and dance of the Swing era to sold out crowds in theatres around the globe since they were included in the 50th anniversary commemoration of WWII by the National Archives of Washington D.C. They were later honored by being selected to perform at President Clinton’s Inaugural Ball in 1997, and have long been associated with the USO.
Tickets are $22 - $42 and are available at the Cascade Theatre Box Office at 1733 Market Street in Redding, by phone at (530) 243-8877 or directly through the Cascade Theatre website at www.cascadetheatre.org. The 2012-13 Cascade Theatre/Jefferson Public Radio Performance Series is generously sponsored by US Bank.
