Blues Harmonica Blowout Returns to the Cascade on February 2

Jefferson Public Radio and the Cascade Theatre present the return of Mark Hummel's Blues Harmonica Blowout featuring blues harp giants Charlie Musselwhite, Billy Boy Arnold, Curtis Salgado and Sugar Ray Norcia on February 2, 2012 at Redding’s historic Cascade Theatre at 7:30pm.
For over 20 years, the annual Blues Harmonica Blowout concerts have toured the nation and grown into an international phenomenon. Backed by the Blues Survivors, the Blues Harmonica Blowout is the creation of Bay Area based Mark Hummel. The shows continue to draw sell out crowds at festivals and theaters around the world, with audience members curious to hear the latest line-up in a revolving roster of harmonica icons. The list of participants is a “Who’s Who” of blues harp history.
Packing as much musical diversity as possible into one harp-heated evening, the legendary group pays tribute to Little Walter — the fiery wizard who altered expectations of what was possible on the humble harmonica. The backing band is features some of the top blues players in the U.S. including Billy Flynn on guitar, Bob Welsh on piano and guitar, June Core on drums and RW Grigsby on bass.
